         Congratulations to Zack Miller (Meadow Club) and to Jordan Cox, a member of the Olympic Club's junior team. Zack shot a 68 in local qualifying at Pasatiempo (a member club), and Jordan shot 67 at Del Rio, to advance to sectional qualifying next month at Lake Merced for the US Open. It was fun to see current and former Bay Cities' junior competing to enter the premier golf tournament in the the world. While I am not attempting to list all who tried to qualify this past Monday, I noted Joseph Bramlett (Olympic), JJ Jakovac advanced(Napa Valley), Elliott Wainwright (Olympic) John Ellis (San Jose), Ray Otis advanced (San Jose), the Jensen brothers (Sharon Heights), John Colyar, and many more. If you see a current or former member who entered the qualifiers (see NCGA.org)who I have not mentioned, please send me an email glynnfalconlaw@aol.com and I will update this list. It would be fun to get a tally on how may juniors, current and past, who have given the US Open a shot this year.

April 8, 2006 Annual Spring Tournament at Marin C.C.

    Well, a little too much rain the night before prevented the Marin Country Club from allowing play on Saturday, but the coaches all seemed to have a good time at the luncheon, discussing the Masters and the 2006 Junior Season.

   Coaches, if you want to schedule your own practice matches for any of your Open Dates on the schedule, please feel free to do so. Open dates are shown by yellow highlighting on the division schedule sheet. If you play a practice round with another team in your division, that match will not count in division standings.  All self-scheduled practice matches have to be submitted to to the League before play, and the scoresheet must be submitted afterwards.

   Team rosters and photos are required to be submitted to the League before June 2, 2006. The newly passed Bylaw now requires you to submit your team and individual players photos to the League along with your rosters.

   Caution: Be careful not to play any high school golfer while s/he is still involved in high school championships, as that may disqualify them from high school play.
